What is agricultural and horticultural science about?
Agricultural and horticultural industries are key drivers of New Zealand’s economic, social, and environmental development. The products of primary production are a source of well-being for the present generation and will be so for future generations.
This year students will learn about soils, propagation, crop management, animal management and reproduction and the geographic distribution of the primary industries in NZ.
With a mix of theory and practical 'hands on' opportunities I aim to provided an exciting and fulfilling course aimed at what I think will benefit boys that require hands on engagement and theoretical knowledge.I believe the Primary Industries in New Zealand is a very exciting and rewarding prospect for students, with many challenging and rewarding paths. To undervalue Agriculture and Horticulture in NZ and the opportunites it can provide is to forget about what is the 'backbone' of our beautiful country.
